A virtual data room is just one of the services offered by Imprima. It also offers asset lifecycle management and automated information retrieval. On its website, Imprima claims that it is one of the most secure data rooms in the industry. Let’s take a closer look to see whether or not Imprima can live up to its hype.
Imprima Data Room Review
At first glance, we notice standard security features that could be found inside lots of data rooms. This includes things like data encryption, two-factor authentication, data encryption, and other features. It also adheres to the standards of international certificates such as ISO/IEC 27001:2013, but so do many other data rooms. Even upon closer inspection, we do not see cutting edge features that are included in truly innovative data rooms are remote shredding and “Fence view”, which serves as a physical barrier between the document and the user in order to prevent camera-based attacks. From looking at the security features that Imprima offers, it is hard to substantiate their claim that they are the most secure data room.
They are also issues in terms of accessibility. Since Imprima does not offer a mobile app, it is not suitable for today’s fast-paced business environment. You need to have the flexibility and agility to access all of your information on the go wherever your job takes you and, if you use Imprima, you are putting yourself at a disadvantage. The granular access permissions are designed in a strange way. Even though you can pick and choose who can access which information there is no access expiration or access limited to a certain IP address. It is surprising that these features are missing especially given that they are not new or innovative by any means.
Also, they do not offer a free trial period which is very bad because the only way to really find out if a virtual data room is right for you is to input your own data and give it a try for yourself. Without having the ability to actually input your own data and try everything out for yourself you are really taking a gamble on buying this product. If you decide to buy and then later decide that it is not right for you, it could be too expensive to switch to something else. Essentially, you have to trust them that their product is intuitive and easy to use because there is no way you can find out before you buy. Therefore, when you are shopping around for data rooms, one of the first things you should look for is whether or not they offer a trial period.
Judging by all of the information that we found, it appears that the Imprima data room cannot handle modern-day deals and workflows. It is simply missing a lot of the security and collaboration features that are necessary in order to get projects done on time.
